George Lynch Will Join Dokken for Two Live Shows in December

0

The prospect of estranged guitarist George Lynch’s reunion with Dokken earlier this year proved more popular with the MetalSucks readership than I’d expected. I knew that I, for one, was pumped about the regrouping, but I didn’t think the same folks who go gaga over anything Corey Taylor does to care (maybe they’re different folks… I dunno).

In any case, after the topic was first broached in March of this year, Lynch ended up joining Dokken for a date in Pennsylvania in June, one in Illinois in July and another in Virginia in July, each for a handful of songs. Now two more shows are on deck, both at the famed Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, CA in December.

Dokken actually have seven dates on the books in California for later this year — three in October, four in December — but Lynch will only appear at the final two in Hollywood. Those dates are:

Oct. 21 – The Canyon – Agoura Hills, CA
Oct. 22 – The Canyon – Santa Clarita, CA
Oct. 23 – The Canyon – Montclair, CA
Dec. 03 – Sycuan Casino – El Cajon, CA
Dec. 04 – The Canyon at Oxnard PACC – Oxnard, CA
Dec. 17 – Whisky A Go Go – West Hollywood, CA (with Lynch)
Dec. 18 – Whisky A Go Go – West Hollywood, CA (with Lynch)

In April, George Lynch indicated that tour dates for Dokken’s reunited, “classic” line-up — consisting of him, singer Don Dokken, bassist Jeff Pilson, and drummer Mick Brown — have been booked. Specific details have yet to be announced. Brown recently retired from drumming, but his brother Steve, who plays with Lynch in other capacities, would be the obvious replacement.

Dokken, Lynch, Pilson and Brown last toured together for a brief run of Japan in 2016, the first time in 21 those four had performed live together.
