Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo Release Cover of Edgar Winter Group’s “Frankenstein”

Metallica’s Kirk Hammett (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass) seem to really enjoy performing covers together. I assume this is in part simply because of their love of music and in part because they have a ton of extra energy from not having a significant say in Metallica’s creative direction.

Whatever the case may be, the duo are celebrating Halloween with a cover of the Edgar Winter Group’s “Frankenstein.” James and Lars were chill enough to let them post it on the official YouTube channel for Metallica’s Blackened American Whiskey, so that was nice of them.

You can check out the cover below.

Yesterday, Metallica announced that they’re teaching a new MasterClass on how to be a band. I assume one of the lessons is “Don’t ever let the bass player look you in the eye.”
