Killswitch Engage Guitarist Joel Stroetzel Tested Positive for COVID, Sat Out of Last Night’s Show

0

Right now, metalcore heartbreakers Killswitch Engage are out on their rescheduled Atonement tour with August Burns Red and Light The Torch. Unfortunately, it’s looking like guitarist Joel Stroetzel has come down with a touch of the ‘Rona, and was forced to sit out of last night’s show at the State Theatre in Portland, ME.

As reported by our pals at The PRP, KSE guitarist Adam D confirmed the bad news onstage last night (February 5th). Fortunately, August Burns Red guitarists Dustin Davidson and JB Brubaker did Killswitch a solid by tag-teaming the set in Joel’s stead. As of now, the tour plans to continue as scheduled, and fans can apparently look forwardly to regularly seeing former Killswitch vocalist and current Light The Torch vocalist Howard Jones joining the band for a few songs onstage.

Everyone at MetalSucks wishes Joel a speedy recovery and hopes he can get back on that stage soon. In the meantime, you can catch Killswitch featuring members of August Burns Red at one of the dates listed below:
