Watch: Wednesday 13 Plays Murderdolls Songs Live as a Tribute to Joey Jordison

0

Last year, the metal world was shocked to learn that Joey Jordison, founding drummer for Slipknot, had died at the age of 46. Shortly after his death, Joey was honored by many of metal’s best and brightest, including Wednesday 13, who was the frontman of Jordison’s short-lived sleaze-metal project Murderdolls. Now, video has emerged of Wednesday paying tribute to Joey midway through a recent show.

As reported by Loudwire, Wednesday 13 took a moment at a gig at The Launchpad in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to say the following about Jordison:

“This part of the show I’d like to make some noise for our brother Joey Jordison. He left us far too soon. He was one of the most talented people I ever met. And he’s the reason any of you guys know who I am. So we picked a couple of songs, some of my favorite songs we liked to play with Joey.”

Wednesday then went on to play two songs from Murderdolls’ 2010 album Women and Children Last, first “Nowhere” and then the album’s big single “Summertime Suicide.” We’re bummed that they weren’t songs from 2002’s awesome Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls, but hey, the dude knew Jordison better than us, he knows what Joey would have liked.
