Alice Cooper Announces the Return of Guitarist Kane Roberts to His Band

0

Last week, it was revealed that virtuosic guitarist Nita Strauss would be leaving Alice Cooper’s band. This, of course, raised two big questions: first, what would Nita’s next gig be, and second, who would be stepping in for Nita in Alice’s band? Now, we at least have an answer for the latter of these two questions, as Alice has announced the return of guitarist Kane Roberts to his crew.

Longtime fans of Alice might remember Kane from two of the Coop’s biggest albums of the 1980s, 1986’s Constrictor and 1987’s Raise Your Fist and Yell. He also co-wrote and played guitar on the song “Bed of Nails” on Alice’s massive 1989 record Trash, which also featured the singer’s biggest hit to date, “Poison.” It should also be noted that the cover of Kane’s first solo album, which we used for the header of this piece, is widely regarded as one of the most ridiculous metal album covers of all time.

Says Alice via his Instagram:

“I’m looking forward to welcoming back Kane Roberts for our shows in September and October. We’ve been friends all this time, and he’s always been one of my favorite guitarists. He’s bringing more muscle to the Detroit Muscle Tour. We’ve always had a swinging door policy where players can come and go, so it’s very exciting to get back on stage with Kane. The fans are in for a real treat at these shows. It’s gonna be a blast. Kane Roberts, Ryan Roxie, and Tommy Henriksen on guitars? Hell yeah!”
