Hanoi Rocks’ Andy McCoy Claims Nikki Sixx Never Thanked Him for Saving His Life: “That Makes Him a Second-Class Citizen in My Eyes”

The feud between Hanoi Rocks and Mötley Crüe continues this week as Hanoi Rocks guitarist Andy McCoy alleged that Nikki Sixx never thanked him for a time that he claims he saved the Crüe bassist’s life.

In the Crüe autobiography The Dirt, Sixx says that a London dealer beat him with a baseball bat when he overdosed on heroin, a story he’s told many times over the years. In a new interview with IndiePower, the Hanoi Rocks guitarist says that isn’t quite the case (transcribed by Blabbermouth).:

“I mean, I used to play baseball. You think someone would survive if I [hit] him with a baseball bat? Hell no! Hell no, man.”

He then circles back to the claim that he resuscitated Sixx after a heroin overdose, which he says Sixx never thanked him for.

“I fucking got him revived, got his heart beating again. And the thank you I’ve gotten has been ‘de nada’. I mean, de nada.’ And that makes him a second-class citizen in my eyes. ‘Cause he only thinks about the buck.”

Sixx’s account of the incident differs. In The Dirt, he wrote that he woke up while being carried out in a trash bag:

“I had large welts all over my arms and chest from being struck with a baseball bat. That was the dealer’s idea: He thought he could put me in so much pain that my system would shock itself back into action.”

McCoy has taken shots at Sixx before for what he calls the rockstar’s frequent lies, saying in the recent interview:

“I’m from the inner city. And I can’t stand bullshit — like his books; [they’re] full of lies. I saved the guy’s life. And he makes up stories.”

McCoy’s comments about being from the inner city are reminiscent of his remarks last month, when he said that Vince Neil never apologized for the 1984 drunk driving accident that killed Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley.

“I’ve never even got as much as an apology from that motherfucker. You know who I’m talking about. I’m not gonna give any names. Why would I give him fame? Fuck him! Every time I see him, he runs away. Because he knows what I’d do. But that’s our business.

“I’m from the inner city. [Vince is] from fucking suburban California. You can never compare us, what we know. You read me, bro.”
