Billboard Tells Us What We Already Know: Goatwhore’s Latest Album is a Top Release

0

It’s been a couple weeks since Goatwhore‘s latest album Angels Hung from the Arches of Heaven came out and I don’t know if you know this already, but it’s pretty fucking good. We’ve been lucky enough to get some pretty killer releases this year, but the latest studio offering from the Louisiana-based act really stands out.

And while we’ve all pretty much known this, the mainstream is starting to take notice as well, as Billboard announced that the album landed high up on American and Canadian charts.

As of yesterday, Angels Hung from the Arches of Heaven was ranked as number 9 on the U.S. Current Hard Rock Albums list and number 8 on the Canadian Billboard Hard Music Albums list. The remaining accolades that Billboard bestowed on the “misanthropic piece of art that new and old fans of the band are likely to find truly gratifying” are as follows:

U.S. Billboard ranks:

  • 17 Billboard Current Rock Albums
  • 21 Billboard Independent Label Albums
  • 31 Billboard Current Digital Albums
  • 43 Billboard Current Albums
  • 61 Billboard Albums

Canadian Billboard Ranks:

  • 29 Billboard Current Digital Albums
  • 37 Billboard Current Albums

None of this should be any surprise to anyone who’s listened to the record. Goatwhore really put out something special with Angels Hung from the Arches of Heaven that’s resonating with new and old fans alike, so of course it’s going to see major success on the Billboard charts.

It’s important to note that in order for an album to get on a Billboard chart, a number of factors are considered, including album sales, streams via the various online platforms, or radio airplay. While we’re pretty sure that last option is lost to a band like Goatwhore, it’s cool to know metalheads are our there vehemently supporting kick ass music.

If you’re still unsure if you should take the time and listen to Goatwhore’s new album, check out a couple of the singles below. You’ll be sure to want to hear the rest.
