Spirit Adrift Announce New Album Ghost At The Gallows and Drop an Absolute Riff-fest of a First Single
Texas heavy metal band Spirit Adrift are back with some new and tasty riffs to help drive you into the weekend, as they’ve not only announced the impending release of their fifth studio album Ghost At The Gallows, but they’ve also released the album’s first single “Death Won’t Stop Me.’
Set for release on August 18 via Century Media, the newly announced LP is the band’s follow up to their 2019 release Divided by Darkness. Described as the band’s “most fully realized work to date,” Nate Garrett said his focus for the album was to create a relatable piece of heavy metal.
“I wanted to write something timeless, that summed up the entire journey of Spirit Adrift.
“Subconsciously, each album I do tends to have a theme or make a point. I didn’t realize it when I was writing, but the new album seems to encapsulate the grieving process. I realized when I was done with it that lyrically all the stages of grief are present. It’s a way to mourn, it’s a way to grieve, to take painful things that happen in our lives and make something powerful and positive out of it. That’s been the goal with this band from day one.”
As for “Death Won’t Stop Me,” the album’s first single doesn’t mince words. It’s chunky, it’s groovy, and it’s got riffs just falling out of it. The production quality is great and if it’s an example of what we should expect from the new album, fans and newcomers alike are going to find something to jam on.
