Tenacious D to Tour the U.S. This Fall

0

The unstoppable and undeniably metal duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass — otherwise known as Tenacious D — are going on tour. This fall, they’ll be taking their entirely serious and not at all comical style out on the road for a quick run through the U.S. this fall.

Branded the “Spicy Meatball Tour,” the D will kick things off on September 6 in Charlotte, North Carolina and will end the tour seven dates later on September 15 at Austin, Texas’ Germania Insurance Amphitheater.

Tenacious D had only recently finished a run of spring shows across the U.S. before they jumped across the pond for their current slate of gigs out in Europe and the United Kingdom. Tomorrow, they’ll hit the stage at the Nova Rock Festival in Nickelsdorf, Austria before continuing to various shows and summer festivals, including Hellfest Open Air in France on June 18. Eventually, they’ll come back to the states to perform at the Video Game Awards in Los Angeles on June 25.

Speaking of that last show, Tenacious D has seen a resurgence in popularity as of late, with the release of songs like “Video Games” and the soulful rendition of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Games.” It also helps that Jack Black starred in the Super Mario Brothers Movie as Bowser, where he sang the insanely viral song “Peaches” (no, not the Presidents of the United States of America hit).

As a long time fan of The D, I think you’d have to be a fool to miss their shows. Especially since it’s so easy to get your hands on tickets. The band is having an artist presale via Ticketmaster that you can access with the password SPICY, while Live Nation will have a presale tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST that you can access with the password DISCO.

General tickets will go live this Friday, though you can always take a shot at grabbing tickets via StubHub through the links below.
