Dying Wish’s Emma Boster is Recovering from Surgery After a Shower Door Exploded

0

Freak accidents can happen to anyone and unfortunately for Dying Wish vocalist Emma Boster, the universe recently drew her name from its hat when a shower door exploded, causing her to need surgery on her right arm.

According to social media posts from Boster yesterday, the incident occurred roughly a week ago while she was staying at an unnamed hotel. Though details about exactly what happened are scarce, it seems from the photos she posted on her X account that she was about to take or was taking a shower when the incident occurred. Shards of glass fell onto her, severing tendons in her right hand in the process.

It’s extremely rare for glass shower doors to explode. According to Glass.com, spontaneous shower door explosions can happen for one of two reasons: either it was installed poorly or nickel sulfide in the glass weakened the door to the point that it broke under heat or as it cooled. We don’t know which circumstance caused this particular incident, but needless to say this seems like a freak accident.

After being rushed to the hospital, the vocalist said she underwent treatment and needed surgery this past Friday to repair the damage done. Calling it a “scary and painful week,” Boster said she was looking forward to a full, albeit long, recovery.

We at MetalSucks are wishing Boster a quick recovery!
