Scattered Storm Bassist Javier Arriaga to Fill In for Fear Factory’s Upcoming Tour Dates

0

When they scheduled their upcoming tour dates, one thing became clear for the dudes in Fear Factory — their bassist Tony Campos was going to be busy fulfilling his other obligations with Static-X. You see, that band was also heading out on tour at the same time, so Dino Cazares and the guys would need to find a fill-in.

Luckily, they apparently didn’t have to go searching too far, as they recruited Scattered Storm’s bassist and former Fear Factory tech Javier Arriaga. The move was confirmed on a September 28 social media post from the bassist that featured himself rehearsing with the band.

“I can announce now since [Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares] mentioned it in an interview today for KLAQ. Im gonna be playing bass with Fear Factory for the whole US run and some dates in Europe while Tony catches up with us. Today we practiced and it felt like a fucking dream. Someone pinch me please. Maybe not. I don’t want to wake up.”

Arriaga will play with Fear Factory until Campos’ tour commitments with Static-X come to an end, which should happen at some point during Fear Factory’s European run.

The band is coming off a pretty killer set during last month’s Metal Injection Festival, where they ripped through a special Demanufacture and Obsolete set, where they played songs they hadn’t touched live in an insanely long time.

As of now, Fear Factory’s preparing for a quick five-date run with Lions At The Gate before both bands join Lacuna Coil for a 10-date tour throughout the U.S. Then later this Fall, they’ll be in Europe for the first time since 2016, playing 44 shows with Butcher Babies and Ignea.
