Lyric Video for Omens B-Side is “Evidence” That Lamb Of God Still Kicks Ass

Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the release of Lamb Of God‘s latest album Omens. To mark the occasion, Randy Blythe and the guys dropped a lyric video for one of that album’s B-Sides dubbed “Evidence.”

As you can see from the video below, the track really is your typical LOG offering, featuring the sort of machine gun guitar riffing, pissed off vocal stylings, and world-class rhythm section you’d come to expect from the outfit. That being said, they do manage to switch things up with some proggy elements that give way to some tasty blastbeats — you know, as a treat.

Speaking about the new single, Blythe said its main focus is to skewer the part of today’s society that’s decided that science and quantifiable facts don’t mean shit.

“One of the more baffling aspects of modern day life is the conscious rejection of empirical facts in favour of Internet echo chamber emotional security blankets. Truth is not subjective, no matter how uncomfortable that makes some people. Art is though, so enjoy the song, however you may choose to interpret it.”

Up until now, the only way you would have heard the track is if you’d purchased the Japanese version of Omens, as it was featured as a bonus track there.

In addition to the new (to us) track, the band is also marking the anniversary by releasing their documentary Making Of: Omens, which is aptly named since it deals with the writing and recording of the record. That will be available on the band’s YouTube page tomorrow at 3 p.m. EST.

As of right now, the band is cooling its heels after a super busy summer touring all over the place, including a killer run with Pantera. As of right now, the only remaining date(s) for them is the two sets they’ll be doing on the high seas as part of their Headbangers Boat cruise. Along with a killer lineup of bands including Mastodon, Testament, GWAR, Municipal Waste, God Forbid, and a whole lot more, Lamb Of God will be playing the entirety of Ashes Of The Wake too. Unfortunately, if you missed out on getting your ass on that cruise, you’re shit out of luck, since it’s sold out.
