Iron Maidens and Heaven Below guitarist Nikki Stringfield released her first full-length solo album Apocrypha on September 29 and and to celebrate that fact, she’s got a new single “Where The Demons Lie,” along with an accompanying music video for your eye and ear holes

Directed by Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films and featuring Nikki herself, Patrick Kennison (Lita Ford, Heaven Below, Union Underground), Shad Wilhelm (Heaven Below), and Jesse Davidson (Ryder Waite), the music video features haunting imagery and exploration of the darkest parts of self-reflection.

Speaking on the single itself, Stringfield said the track is all about self-growth and facing your problems head on.

“This song is about facing down your demons, which could be anything from addiction, toxic people/relationships, or self-inflicted traumas. For me, this song is about overcoming the past and any demons attached to it.”

“We shot this video in just nine hours on one of the hottest days of the year in Long Beach, and we had a blast! Working with Industrialism Films was so fun and easy, and I love their creative vision. Filming with the ‘demon’ in the mirrors and seeing how it turned out on camera is incredible.”

While she shares the the track was initially not her favorite from the release, that quickly changed once vocals were finished.

“I love horror movies, so a lot of that comes across in my lyrics with a touch of creepiness in the music.

“Patrick and I are both huge Alice in Chains fans, so that had a lot of influence on the haunting backing vocals/harmonies.”

You can pick up your copy of Apocrypha wherever you get your music.
