Premiere: AXIOMA Get Apocalyptic on Primal Descent EP

0

AXIOMA are sharing their full Primal Descent EP here before it drops November 3 via Stained Glass Torments. The nihilistic, apocalyptic band from the bowls of Cleveland, Ohio are following up their 2022 full-length Sepsis.

The band features Cyril Blandino (Time Of Death, ex-Morgue), J. Meyers (Dark Worship, ex-Aureae Crucis), Aaron Dallison (Brain Tentacles, ex-Keelhaul), and Nick Amato (Atomic Witch).

The EP was written in 2022 following the release of their last record. It was recorded in Bad Back Studios located in Bath with longtime AXIOMA engineer Dave Johnson (Midnight, Fistula). Only four tracks long, the dark themes span the depraved and the hopeless, taking on topics like human folly and uncontrollable technology.

Throughout the songs on the album, AXIOMA keep it heavy and create a vibe for the entire release, but they also tell a cohesive story about the imminent downfall of humanity.

About the second track from the album, the band say:

“‘Spectre In The Code’ is a prophetic warning; a lurking conscious and feral Artificial Intelligence. As we descend into an uncritical embrace of technology, a narrowing of the context, an erosion of human capability—for the illusion of technological salvation.”
