Mutoid Man Offer a Puss-Filled Reason Why They’re Rescheduling Their East Coast Shows

0

An unexpected bout of shingles (the shingles?) is throwing a wrench into Mutoid Man‘s touring plans, resulting in their entire east coast run to get scrapped and pushed back to another date.

The news came about an hour ago when the band announced that bassist Jeff Matz had contracted the disease. And while it’s not contagious, per se, it’s extremely irritating and I imagine would suck to have to soldier through while on stage. As a result of Matz’s diagnosis, the band said they were unfortunately going to have to figure out how to make the dates up.

“Fellow mutants,

“We regret to announce that our beloved bass brother Jeffrey Matz has developed a case of Medieval Scabby Leprosy aka Shingles. Due to this horrid contagion, Mutoid Man is unable to perform our duties on the East Coast this month, as we are not willing to break up our rock hard unit with a replacement. We will watch him carefully as he writhes in pain and pus shoots out of his open lesions before they eventually turn to scab crust.

“We are committed to rescheduling these dates for 2024 and we are just as bummed as you to retreat into our respective mutant caves. NYC’s own Uniform will take our place at Webster Hall with Botch on Nov 10th, and Tower will be there too. Also, to be clear – the 4 West Coast dates Dec 7-12 are still happening!

“Sorry for the inconvenience – let’s all shed a bloody tear thinking about what might have been.

“Decrepitly yours, Mutoid Man”

As you can see in their statement, the previously announced west coast dates are still proceeding as scheduled. Though we don’t know what’s going to happen to the rescheduled east coast dates just yet in terms of potential dates and venues, we do know that the Mutoid Man will be replaced by Uniform for the band’s Webster Hall show with Botch.

We’re hoping Matz has a speedy recovery from such a massive pain the ass of a disease. We’re not saying he’s got ass shingles, by the way — we’re just saying we ho — you know what we’re saying.
