Phobophilic’s Tour Van Was Damaged, Their Sh*t Was Stolen and Now They Need Your Help
They may be getting closer and closer to the end of their tour with Jarhead Fertilizer, but death metal outfit Phobophillic are unfortunately not immune to the whims of bad luck and chaos. While playing shows out in California, the band became victims of a botched theft that still saw them losing personal items and having their touring van’s ignition damaged.
According to the band, they were at one of their two Southern California gigs when some opportunistic fuckface decided they were going to try to steal the band’s shit. As you can see in the tweet below, the unmitigated douchenozzle(s) busted out one of the van’s windows and tried to hotwire the vehicle. After fucking that up and damaging the ignition, the pieces of dogshit grabbed whatever they could, which ended up being personal bags and a box full of merch. Not sure what they’ll do with Phobophilic band t-shirts and other accoutrements, but who knows?
This sort of shit fucking sucks for a touring band, since the margins for profitability while on the road are already pretty slim, to say the least. Losing merch directly cuts into the band’s revenue and vehicle repairs can be costly as hell, depending on what’s broken.
While the band admit that “it could have been much worse,” given the situation, it’s still super fucked since they themselves admit that this has “set us back really hard.”
Rather than set up a GoFundMe or something to hopefully recoup their losses, Phobophilic are asking anyone to send money to their PayPal account. There are still a few days left on the band’s U.S. run, so if any of the dates below are nearby, you should consider buying a ticket and helping the band out by supporting them that way. Buy whatever merch they have left. They need the help.
