Orgy Announce U.S. Tour for 25th Anniversary of ‘Candyass’

0

This year marks 26 years since the release of Orgy’s debut album Candyass, so what better year for a 25th anniversary tour? Well, the actual 25th anniversary year, I guess. The nu metal band, who scored their first big hits in the late-‘90s, announced a co-headlining tour with Cold that kicks off on April 11, with additional support from Horizon Theory and I Ya Toyah.

The tour announcement comes with the announcement of remastered, vinyl reissues of both Candyass, which was released 26 years ago in 1998, and the band’s second album, Vapor Transmission, which came out 24 years ago in 2000. Since Orgy only produced three albums, that means that the only one not being repressed is Punk Statik Paranoia, which came out exactly 20 years ago next month, making it the only one with a significant anniversary that would actually make sense to celebrate in 2024. Is it possible that Orgy’s just bad at math?

Scooter Ward of Cold talked in a statement about how excited he was to be co-headlining with Orgy to celebrate the anniversary of this iconic album:

“Cold is excited to be back out on the road with Orgy this Spring on our co-headline tour for their anniversary of the album Candyass. That album has always been a staple record for an era of music that changed the landscape for things to come in our genre. Looking forward to being a part of the celebration!”
