Even Zakk Wylde Has a Festival Now, Featuring Cody Jinks, Clutch, and a Few Cover Bands

Seems like everyone’s getting in on the rock and metal festival game. Jamey Jasta brought back Milwaukee Metalfest. Numerous bands have floating festivals out on various cruise ships. Hell, even Metal Injection got in the game. So it only makes sense that former Ozzy axeman, Black Label Society frontman, and Pantera‘s guitar stand-in man Zakk Wylde would throw his weight around and put something together himself.

Dubbed the ‘Berzerkus,’ which I can only imagine is a portmanteau of “berserk” and “circus,” the show will take place at Bushkill, Pennsylvania’s Poconos Park on Saturday, September 14. At the top of the bill will naturally be Black Label Society, though they’ll be sharing that spot with their co-headliner, outlaw country music artist Cody Jinks.

Rounding out the rest of the musical side of things will be Clutch, Rival Sons, Black Stone Cherry, a Led Zeppelin cover band (ZOSO), an early Van Halen cover band (The Atomic Punks), and an Iron Maiden cover band (The Iron Maidens).

Aside from the action on stage, attendees will also be able to take in some extra-curriculars, including an on-site car show, a music gear market, strong man competition, craft beer festival, battle of the bands, Miss BERZERKUS contest, and Ride For Dime a charity Harley ride in memory of Pantera’s guitar player Dimebag. More shit will be also on the docket, though details are sparse.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 2, though early bird sales will start the day before at 8 a.m. EST to all who register through the festival’s official website. And naturally, there will be tiered experience packages in case you wanna spend some extra cash and get preferential seating and treatment.
