Wayfarer to Headline North American Tour with Sonja
Fresh off the scorching hot reception American Gothic received last year, American black metal act Wayfarer announced just minutes ago that they will be hittin’ the ol’ dusty trail this spring for their first-ever headlining North American tour. Coming along for the trip will be Sonja, with Valdrin showing up for select dates as well.
Set to kick off on April 26 in Jackson, Wyoming and will run for a 25-date run that culminates on May 24 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Wayfarer guitarist and vocalist Shane McCarthy said this announcement was a long time coming, as this run of dates will be the first time that they’ll visit some parts of the country.
“This tour has been a long time coming for us – it will actually be the band’s first ever full US headlining tour in our 10+ year history. We are looking forward to hitting some places we have never been before (Wisconsin, Montana), some places we haven’t been in 7+ years (Philly, Boston etc), and of course returning to several of the places that have always brought it in the past. We are thrilled to bring American Gothic to the stage in a big way, and hugely thrilled to be doing so alongside a band the caliber of Sonja, a Philadelphia crew ripping talents that the world needs more of. It will be an honor to be on the road with them, and exciting as well to be joined by Cincinnati’s Valdrin on a stretch of dates as a band that is on the cutting edge of American Black Metal.

Along with the tour announcement, Wayfarer also have an album release show set for March 29 in Denver, Colorado at the Bluebird Theater, where they’ll play the entirety of American Gothic. The show will also include an acoustic solo show by Blood Incantation’s own Paul Riedl.
Tickets will go on sale today at 12 p.m. EST (9 a.m. PST).
