‘Spinal Tap at Stonehenge – The Final Finale’ to Reach Theaters in 2026

There will never be another Spinal Tap—ya know, minus the sequels and stuff. But as far as the whole premise, execution, and essence of what Spinal Tap as a band and movie can never be matched. After last month’s release of the long-awaited Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (and just a few months after the band teamed up with Elton John to rerecord their single “Stonehenge”, of course) what they’re unfortunately saying is the final final film, Spinal Tap at Stonehenge: The Final Finale, has a release day set for some time next year.

Film company Bleecker Street bought the U.S. distribution rights to the film, created by Rob Reiner and Vertigo Live. The movie will yet again follow our beloved fictional heavy metal heroes Spinal Tap (which sees (Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer reprising their roles) as they go to finally put on the first-ever, once-in-a-lifetime concert at Stonehenge. Shania Twain, Josh Groban, and Eric Clapton are also performing in the film for whatever reason, so that’ll also be a little treat.

Bleecker Street CEO Kent Sanderson knows the weight the final Spinal Tap holds, releasing this statement on it:

“I’m told this is it. They’re really serious this time. While this is ostensibly the end, how fitting is it that this actual-probable-send-off is shot, historically, at Stonehenge, the mysterious landmark that we now know must have been erected thousands of years ago purely to serve as the setting for the last act of Spinal Tap.”

While there isn’t an actual calendar date set for the release—or if there is, we surely don’t freakin know it yet—Spinal Tap at Stonehenge: The Final Finale is set to hit theaters and IMAX sometime in 2026. Make sure you have your lil Stonehenge toys on deck.
