HEADBANGER’S BALL KINDLY DISAGREES WITH VINCE NEILSTEIN’S CHOICE FOR “BEST VIDEO OF 2007″

The video was directed by House. That’s right: the cranky, quirky doctor with the cane directed a Mushroomhead video!
Personally, I think the choice sucks – even if you were gonna choose a Mushroomhead video from earlier this year, I’d think you’d at least go with a super-catchy guilty pleasure song like “Simple Survival” – but apparently more than 120,000 people voted in the show’s “Video of the Year” poll, so, uh, give the people what they want, I guess.
In a press release, Mushroomhead stated, “Fuck Slipknot. We are very proud to have won this award. Fuck Slipknot. We’d like to thank all the fans who voted for us, and not for Slipknot. We’d also like to thank House for taking time out of his very busy schedule curing weird diseases to do our video. Also, fuck Slipknot.”

If I’m not mistaken, this most recent episode of HBB showed the top videos of the year. If that is in fact the case, then whoever voted is a dumbass. I’m not sure I watched an entire video for the whole broadcast.
HBB’s entire list was bullshit.
Anyway, Mushroomhead needs to let this whole “We’re mad because we aren’t the most successful band in masks” thing go. It’s fucking dumb.
Not to mention pretty much each member of Slipknot has more talent than all of Mushroomhead…that includes Craig.
Slipknot needs to go ahead and release a statement saying “Fuck Mushroomhead, they won number one video on a show that played Armor for Sleep videos”.

I have to say, I’ve never listened to mushroomhead, and that song was so similar to slipknot it scared me. Most bands are afraid to sound/look like slipknot cuz despite their popularity, there is quite a stigma attached. Mushroomhead, not afraid to sound EXACTLY like slipknot–all the way down to the Joey Jordison signature snare their drummer is playing (and if its not the JJ sig, it sounds EXACTLY like it…i know I just bought that drum and its sweet).
All that said it doesnt surprise me that 120,000 17 yr olds voted for that video. Its pretty catchy.

Yes, the jj1365 is sweet. I highly doubt that Mushroomhead records with it, but the fact that they go to such lengths to imitate Slipknot makes me laugh. Note to Mushroomhead: Just because you win an award doesn’t mean your music isn’t 100% deriviative.

Mushroom Head’s music for one thing totally sucks. Im not a huge Slipknot fan, but there music is much better. They need to stop being jealous that Slipknot has actually sold records and actually played sold out arena’s. I wonder if they have ever actually sold out a show? Even if they didnt wear mask they would suck. If I was in a band that blew goats that much, I would want to wear a mask too.
It sounds exactly like “march of the pigs” meets “let the bodies hit the floor”. Maybe they will make it to “metal that sounds like other metal v. 22″…
I enjoy Mushroomhead’s music, but for a band that is basically a tamer version of Slipknot, they need to get their fucking ego-thick heads out of their asses and see who’s calling the kettle black.
Those who know their history know why Mushroomhead hates Slipknot: because Slipknot ripped off the Shroom, not the other way around. Roadrunner Records tried to sign Mushroomhead and got turned down (didn’t offer enough $) so they signed a weak imitation because they wanted a band with that look and sound on their roster.
i think most of you are idiots and have no clue about mushroomheads past.they been here since 92-93. hey it’s not shrooms fault for not letting roadrunner write their music for them. roadrunner found themselfs the puppets they where lookin for so they signed slipknot. plus slipknot screwed over everyone in their little town of iowa to get where they are now so…..
I guess Jeffrey Nothing forgot that Slipknot didn’t release any videos in 2007.
