Time to Get to Know Morgoth

Morgoth - God is Evil

I wasn’t cool enough to know about Morgoth in 1996, the last time they released an album. But I’m definitely glad they’re back — and apparently I’ve got some catching up to do — because their first new song in 18 years, “God is Evil,” rips. There isn’t anything particularly revolutionary or groundbreaking about it, but sometimes you just need a dose of straight-forward, old school death metal to give you a swift kick in the pants. And “God is Evil” absolutely does that.

The track comes from a 7″ of the same name with “Die as Deceiver” on the B-side, and it’s meant as a teaser of sorts for Morgoth’s forthcoming full-length album Ungod, which will be out next year.
