Watch: Metallica’s 1999 New Year’s Eve Performance of “Blackened”

0

Since you fools only click on articles having to do with Metallica and Slipknot / Corey Taylor these days — with the occasional click-garnering juicy beef, like the current ICP vs. Limp Bizkit kerfuffle — I am going to take this opportunity to inform you of some excellent new metal that came out this year that you should be listening to. Believe it or not, these bands haven’t been around for 35 fucking years but they’re all pretty great:

Horrendous – Idol

Rivers of Nihil – Where Owls Know My Name

Harakiri for the Sky – Arson

Oceans of Slumber – The Banished Heart

Yob – Our Raw Heart

Revocation – The Outer Ones

With that out of the way, you may proceed to live in the past by watching Metallica’s New Year’s Eve 1999 (heading into 2000) performance of “Blackened.” Don’t get me wrong, it’s fucking great — classic Metallica forever! — but there’s fantastic new shit out there, too, people. Explore a little!

The video is part of the roll-out for the 30th anniversary reissue of … And Justice for All with several super-deluxe, extra-special packaging options available.
