TO CLARIFY, JUDAS PRIEST ARE NOT BREAKING UP

So last month Judas Priest announced a farewell tour, and everyone assumed that the band were going to subsequently break-up, ’cause the word “farewell” means good-bye, so, y’know.

Apparently that’s not the case, though — Priest are just going all Beatles n’ shit. From guitarist Glenn Tipton’s official website:

“To put every ones [sic] mind at rest this is by no means the end of the band, in fact we are presently writing new material, but we do intend this to be the last major world tour.”

So we’ll get more Nostradamuses (Nostradamusi?), but no more shows? Well, uh, that kinda sucks. I don’t think new Priest is bad by any stretch of the imagination, but if they think I go see them to hear songs from Angel of Retribution, they’ve got another thing comin’. My point being that I’m not sure I care about a Priest that does not tour.

How about you nice folks? Are you stoked that at least we’ll continue to get new Priest tunes, or are JP a legacy band that need to either keep touring behind their greatest hits or just call it day?
