Shining - I Won't Forget

Good news for North Americans: Shining’s new record One One One, which came out last Friday in Norway, will be getting a proper Stateside release via Prosthetic Records on April 23rd. All those involved have done a great job pretending the Internet doesn’t exist — making sure the album isn’t available on Amazon, iTunes, Spotify or anywhere else legal despite the fact that the record is out there, in fans’ hands, somewhere — thereby driving American fans straight towards piracy during the three week international release gap. But if you’re patient you’ll be able to download the album legally on April 23rd and you’ll be able to purchase a physical copy on CD or gatefold vinyl around May 23rd (pre-order here).

So far we’ve heard five tracks from the album — all stellar — and now we get our first piece of eye candy with an official video for the very first of those tracks to be released, “I Won’t Forget.” Everything about this video is awesome, from the technical aspects — the coloring, the special effects, the cuts, the nudity [this would probably be a good time to drop in a big old “NSFW”… there is some boobage] — to the creepy, futuristic aesthetic. The video takes place in a Matrix-like world where humans are hooked up to machines via spinal and cranial plugs, except… well, just watch.
