Watch Rob Halford Use the Phrase “Off the Hook,” Discuss Being on The Simpsons, and His Sexuality

There’s some great intel in Metal Injection’s new interview with Judas Priest members Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, and K.K. Downer — but my favorite part, without question, is hearing all about the band’s guest appearance on an episode of The Simpsons earlier this year. Partly because Rob Halford gets all fanboy about it, and it’s funny to see someone who would make me starstruck be struck by other stars. But it’s also partly because of the fact that he unhesitatingly and unironically uses the phrase “off the hook.” Keep in mind, the dude is sixty-two years old. There are not a lot sexagenarians running around using that terminology. It makes me wonder whatever idioms Halford might drop in conversation. “I tell ya, when we were making British Steel, we were still a song short, and then K.K. played me the riff for what would become ‘Breaking the Law,’ and I was like, ‘That is da BOMB, yo!'”
