Here’s Live Footage of Four New F*ck the Facts Songs to F*ck Up Your Day

  • Axl Rosenberg

The last time I was excited about new music from Fuck the Facts was when I had no idea who Fuck the Facts were. For my money, they’re one of the very best grind bands out there today, and they belong on a short list of bands — not just grind bands, not even just metal bands, but bands, period — that get better and better as time goes on.

So it is with no small amount of glee that I present to you the below footage from Nascency Productions of the ban performing four new songs during a recent show in Winnipeg, Canada. (Actually, there’s footage of the entire show, which is worth watching — but the below video is cued up to the new shit, if that’s all you wanna hear right now.) The tracks will appear on the band’s upcoming split 10″ with Quebec grind band Fistfuck. According to guitarist Topon Das, “Our side of the split consists of 11 songs clocking in at under 10 minutes, making it probably our most straight up grindcore release since our 2001 album Mullet Fever.” Sounds rad to me. Check out the four new songs below:

Meanwhile, Fuck the Facts are “currently working on two other releases” BESIDES the Fistfuck split, according to a press release. These releases — which include a new full length!!! — “are being prepared to see the light of day in the coming months.”

And as if all that wasn’t enough, four-fifths of Fuck the Facts are now also part of a new ambient noise/doom band called Merdarahta, who have just released an EP called Solar Pulse. Needless to say, it’s wwwwwwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyy different from Fuck the Facts. I’m not really the biggest fan of ambient metal, but I’d still encourage you to check out Solar Pulse and make up your own mind about that project, ’cause, y’know, a lotta you are into different shit from me and might really dig it!

You can stream Solar Pulse below, and/or download it here. The limited edition cassette with discography CD can purchased here.
