Phil Anselmo Cuddles Like Hell In King Parrot’s “Like A Rat”

PhillParrotCuddleWorking on a grindcore record can make for bedfellows. And sometimes those bedfellows include your huge, hairy, gravel-voiced producer.

Such is the case for Aussie band King Parrot in the video for “Like A Rat,” the first track off of their upcoming Phil Anselmo-produced record Dead Set. Check it out below, courtesy of Metal Underground.

We all know King Parrot are hilarious,  but it still surprises me how Phil Anselmo has become one of the funniest dudes in the metal world. For so long, he was known as being humorless and reactionary, but with this and his work on Dave Hill’s Full Metal Grasshopper series, he’s basically becoming extreme metal’s Mel Brooks.

King Parrot’s new album, Dead Set, drops May 19th on Anselmo’s own Housecore Records, and was recorded at the singer’s Nosferatu’s Lair. Catch the band on tour with Weedeater starting Saturday.
