Zao Have Nothing To Fear But “Fear Itself”, You Have Nothing To Fear But Zao

Zao - Xenophobe : Fear ItselfZao were an important part of my metal growth; Liberate Te Ex Infernis was a cool non-traditional introduction to disharmonious metal-influenced hardcore, which eventually led to my love of bands like God Forbid and Scarlet. On Monday, we posted the band’s first new song since 2009, “Xenophobe”, and today we have a new track, titled “Fear Itself.”

Like “Xenophobe”, “Fear Itself” has all the chaotic and off-kilter atmosphere that fans of the band love. But while the former is more frantic and vicious, the latter is a looming, menacing track with bits and pieces of jazzy filth that makes it desperate and worn thin, like the single bloodied survivor of a horror movie.

Check out the new song below. The band’s new 7″ hits stores today, and it sounds like you should go buy it.
