Watch This Gorgeous Time-Lapse Video of John Baizley’s Cover Artwork for the New Baroness Album
Baroness have been releasing a series of videos that document the making of their new album Purple. But what we haven’t seen yet is the album’s full artwork which, as usual, was drawn by their supremely talented frontman/mainman John Baizley (who’s also done artwork for Pig Destroyer, Darkest Hour, Kvelertak, Skeletonwitch and tons more).
The latest Baroness documentary video not only unveils the artwork for the first time but shows the entire process of its creation, from black outlines to full-fledged illustration. While the video is only a minute long, it chronicles the countless hours this piece must’ve taken to create in startlingly clear fashion; it’s fascinating to see how the illustration takes shape over time.
Purple comes out December 18 via the band’s own newly formed label, Abraxan Hymns. Pre-order packages the record are available now here, on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. The band hits the road in Decemeber; get dates here.
