Omnium Gatherum Continue Being Epic and Awesome on “Frontiers”

I am beyond mega-bummed I missed the Insomnium / Omnium Gatherum tour this past fall. Who won in the battle of the Finnish “ums”? Trick question: everyone! We all win with riffs as epic as the ones that these two bands deliver on a constant basis.

Omnium Gatherum will release Grey Heavens on February 26th via Century Media, and now we’ve got a new song and music video called “Frontiers” to show us what it’s gonna be like. And — no surprises here — it’s great! Omnium Gatherum have always pedaled in this very specific brand of slightly corny but incredible epic melodic death-doom (yeesh that’s a mouthful), so fans of the band should be plenty happy with this track. There are no surprises or game-changers here, but do we really need any of those?
