Holy Grail Were “Heavily Discouraged” Releasing Their New NSFW Music Video

Holy Grail have released a new video for their song “Those Who Will Remain,” despite, apparently, concerns from some of members of their camp:

“The ‘Those Who Will Remain’ Video was made by Holy Grail for our very amazing fans/friends and is in no way affiliated with any companies we’ve worked with or are working with. In fact, it was heavily discouraged by some. Please don’t let the graphic nature of this video reflect on anyone but the 5 dudes in HG who tried to make a horror film/tour video while on the road. Party On, Dudes!!!”

The video is super-violent (albeit in a very low-tech, B-horror movie kinda way), but it’s far less objectionable than a lot of other videos I’ve seen — I mean, you won’t need a barf bag to watch it the way you would for Cattle Decapitaiton’s “Forced Gender Reassignment” video. A lot of the victims in the video are women, so maybe there was some concern it would send a misogynist message? I don’t think the band meant anything by it, though. The video is so cheap I’d have to guess they just grabbed whomever was around on whatever day and were like, “Here, you be the victim.”

Check out the clip for yourself below. The song appears on Times of Pride and Peril, which is out now on Prosthetic.
