Chronus Get Creepy on “City of Light”

Sweden has a propensity for cranking out top-notch metal bands, and the country’s latest metal export is no exception: world, meet Chronus, and Chronus, meet world.

Fans of Ghost should find a lot to like on the band’s song “City of Light,” with its distinctly classic metal vibe, a hint of the occult and masterfully crafted guitar and vocal hooks. Lead singer The Baron’s voice is halfway between Ozzy Osbourne and Brent Hinds, a throaty croon that foreshadows the coming chilly autumn nights. If this track isn’t stuck in your head after just one listen then we give up forever.

Chronus’s self-titled debut album came out this past January, but will be reissued by Ellefson Music Productions (yup, that Ellefson) on October 28th. Scandinavians can catch the band on tour with fellow Helsingborg natives Soilwork and The Unguided in November:
