Corey Taylor Speaks in Support of NFL Players Who Take a Knee During the National Anthem
Donald Trump tweets so much it’s like he thinks everyone cares what he thinks, when we all know the truth: we care what Corey Taylor thinks, and only what Corey Taylor thinks.
So what does Corey Taylor think about the recent brouhaha with President Dorito-Colored Diarrhea and NFL players who take a knee during the National Anthem as a form of protest against police brutality? I’m sure you’ll be shocked to learn that the vocally liberal Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman has their backs. During a recent interview with radio station Q105.1, Taylor had the following to say about the matter (transcript courtesy of Rock Feed):
“I think a lot of people have been very secure in their freedom for a very long time, so they’re looking for things to bitch about now — not on the football players’ side; I’m talking about the other side.
“The whole reason that football players are kneeling during the national anthem is to call attention to the fact that police brutality is out of control. There have already been seven hundred and twelve people killed while in police [custody] this year alone. That is a huge, huge number. The whole reason that people are doing that is to call attention to that, and the fact that most of [the police officers], their body cameras weren’t working. Yeah, sure, okay, whatever. But you’ve got a handful of asshats that are trying to make it about something that it’s not.”
Bingo! The kneeling during the National Anthem is just the latest excuse racists are using to be racist. If that’s news to you, I assume you’ve just this second learned to read. Congratulations! Welcome to the magical world of literacy.
