Gridlink’s Takafumi Matsubara Announces Solo Album Featuring Members of Brutal Truth, Full of Hell, Wormrot, and More

The members of Gridlink are keeping busy this year. First, GL frontman Jon Chang launched a new band, No One Know What the Dead Think, with his former Discordance Axis bandmate Rob Marton and Cohol’s Kyosuke Nakano. Now Gridlink guitarist Takafumi Matusbara has announced that he’ll release his debut solo album, Strange, Beautiful and Fast, on September 20. According to the Bandcamp description, Strange, Beautiful and Fast was “Fueled by the passing of his great friend Hee Chung (Unholy Grave),” and “not only pays condolences to his friend but also celebrates the friendships that grindcore has brought to him through these years of ups and down due to his health.” (Remember, just a few years ago, Matsubara was afflicted with a serious infection/inflammation of the brain.)

And since it’s a celebration of friendship, Matsubara recruited a fuckton of awesome grind musicians to appear on the record, including members of Brutal Truth, Wormrot, Full of Hell, Noisear, Maruta, Kill the Client, and Organ Dealer… and that’s just to name a few. Which ups Strange, Beautiful and Fast from a must-listen to a REALLY-must-listen. I mean, check out this list of credits:
