Ever wondered what it woulda sounded like if Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister had ever sung on a country track? Well, now you can find out: country singer Lynda Kay has released “The Mask,” a song Lemmy started writing in 1979 before completing it with Kay in 2009. Why has it been sitting in a vault for a decade? No idea — it’s pretty good! Lemmy’s gruff, weathered voice, it turns out, lends itself to country almost as well as it lends itself to rock.

You can listen to “The Mask” below. The track appears on Kay’s new double album, Black & Gold, which also features collaborations with a ton of other cool cats like Jeff Beck, Brian Wilson, Tedeschi Trucks, and Jenny Lewis. It’s out now.
