Devin Townsend’s Heavy Live Band Will Feature Members of Megadeth, ex-The Faceless, Bad Wolves

0

Devin Townsend is planning a number of different tours over the next couple of years, each with a different musical focus. As such, he’s pledged to tool each touring outfit appropriately, with different personnel on each run.

A few weeks ago Devin announced the lineup for his upcoming European tour, which he previously described as “a very selfish tour for me — a ton of people onstage, playing a bunch of stuff that I’ve wanted to play for years, a lot of improv, a lot of really interesting things.” The lineup for that run will be:

Guitar: Mike Keneally
Drums: Morgan Ågren
Bass: Nathan Navarro
Female Vocals: Che Aimee Dorval
Keyboard: Diego Tejeida
Auxiliary Guitar Loops: Markus Reuter

Earlier this week Devin unveiled the lineup for his “heavy” band, which he’ll trot out next year and will see him bringing Strapping Young Lad material back into the fold:

Guitars: Wes Hauch (Alluvial, ex-The Faceless, ex-Black Crown Initiate)
Bass: Kyle Konkiel (Bad Wolves)
Drums: Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth, ex-Soilwork)

The above lineup will make its debut on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise this coming January, which will also host Emperor, Epica, Venom, Moonsorrow, Wintersun and others, with most of the 60 bands scheduled to perform yet to be announced.
