Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” Re-Recorded in the Style of Slipknot (Now with More Corey Taylor!)

0

A couple of months back, we featured the work of YouTuber Metal Börje, who combined the only two bands that matter into one stupendous achievement: a version of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” re-recorded as if Slipknot were covering it. The execution was quite impressive — the production, arrangement and re-jiggered riffs all sounded very, very Slipknot-y, down to the dry drum rolls and keg (er, pot) banging — but the cover was missing one very important thing: vocals!

Börje has finally found the Corey Taylor for his Hetfield, and he’s posted an updated version of the cover to his channel to satisfy our constant need to fellate anything Slipknot and/or Metallica-related. The vocalist is Rapa Nui of the band Contralma, who happens to run his own Slipknot tribute YouTube channel, SkapGoat, and the guy’s vocals are certainly Corey Taylor-esque in nature. It’s a fun exercise in recording, and you should give the cover a spin below!

Slipknot will be on tour all winter in the U.K. and Europe, and Metallica have some American festival appearances planned for the summer.
