VV IMPORTANT NEWS RE: SLIPKNOT, ONE OF THE ONLY THREE BANDS THAT ACTUALLY MATTER: We won’t have to wait 5-6 years for a new ‘Knot album! Or, at least, a new kinda-sorta ‘Knot album.

I’m speaking, of course, about Look Outside Your Window, the album Corey Taylor, Shawn “Clown” Crahan, Jim Root, and Sid Wilson recorded during sessions for 2008’s All Hope is Gone. Taylor has previously said that the eleven-track record has “a Radiohead vibe.”

Now, in a new interview with NME, Clown has promised that Look Outside Your Window will be released “this album cycle”:

“It was scheduled for Christmas but I just quit asking because I don’t want it to interfere with this – and mainly because of what it is. It needs its own space. We’re having a good time enjoying this album and we have no ego with that. It’s just beautiful art that we want to share in the right way. It’s going to come out on this album cycle. It’ll just be this thing that happens and people won’t even know.”

I don’t understand what Clown means when he says “people won’t even know,” but I don’t understand 80% of anything Clown says ever so that’s par for the course. Even if Look Outside Your Window was a surprise release, I imagine people would find out about it. This band is too massive for it to be an allegedly-hidden release like that one Limp Bizkit album. But if I had to guess, I’d wager that Clown means “people won’t even know” like “people won’t even know what hit them.”

Assuming people do even know when Look Outside Your Window is released, we’ll tell you. In the meantime, Slipknot are still doing a whole lotta touring behind last year’s We Are Not Your Kind. Get dates and tickets here.
