Clutch Release Re-Recorded Version of “Willie Nelson”


Clutch’s Weathermaker Vault Series is the band’s chance to revive old tracks and give them the proper attention they need, as well as try some cover songs. To continue the series, the band have released a new version of the track “Willie Nelson,” which was initially on their 2003 album Slow Hole to China: Rare and Unreleased. This is the sixth release in the series thus far.

This follows the re-recorded release of “Spacegrass.” Below, check out the original recording and then the new one. The stoner rock outfit has reached its full potential with this cleaner, buoyant rework.

To celebrate this year’s Record Store Day, Clutch will be releasing a a vinyl box set called The Obelisk, and will include their Weathermaker Vault releases. It arrives June 20th.
