Body Count Want YOU to Make Their Next Music Video

Body Count have launched a contest to create the music video for “The Hate is Real,” a song from their most recent album, Carnivore.

You can go here to download the song (assuming you don’t already have it). That same link will also take you to the instructions for uploading your final video.

The band will pick their favorite entry, which will become the official video for the song. The winner will get a Body Count backstage pass (presumably to be used when shows finally come back), a Zoom call with frontman Ice-T, and five grand to cover your expenses for the production of the video.

Here’s the fine print:

“Just want to keep you honest. You can only use footage you’ve personally shot, created or own. If you are using footage or materials outside of that, you need to have the rights cleared in writing by the verifiable owner. For example, you can’t pull footage from the’Bum Rush’ video. Basically, keep your shit legit.

“The contest ends on February 28th, 2021.”

Carnivore was released last March on Century Media. Produced by Will Putney (Fit for an Autopsy, Thy Art is Murder, Knocked Loose, etc.), it features guest appearances by Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed), Amy Lee (Evanescence), and late Power Trip frontman Riley Gale.

The Carnivore track “Bum-Rush” has been nominated for a Best Metal Performance Grammy. Those awards will take place March 14.
