Architects Build New Single and Video, “Dead Butterflies”

Architects, the extremely popular British metalcore band featuring Sylosis mastermind Josh Middleton, have released a new song and video, “Dead Butterflies.” It’s the latest single from their forthcoming album, For Those That Wish to Exist.

I’m not much of a fan of this band, but I get the appeal of this song. It’s catchy! I especially like the horns and strings, even if they’re fake AF.

Speaking of fake AF: the biggest turn off for me is the vocals. My apologies to… [looks up the name of the singer in Architects]… Sam Carter… the electronic effects through which his voice is filtered were clearly an aesthetic choice… I’m just not feelin’ it. All I could keep thinking was how much better this would sound with Michael Lessard singing it.

Maybe you will be feelin’ it, though? Find out by checking out the track below.

For Those That Wish to Exist comes out on February 26 through Epitaph Records; pre-order here.
