Mindless Self Indulgence Frontman Jimmy Urine Accused Of Sexually Assaulting a Minor
Mindless Self Indulgence frontman Jimmy Urine (né James Euringer) has had a lawsuit brought against him by an anonymous woman with accusations of grooming, molesting and sexually assaulting a minor.
According to Rolling Stone, the suit stems from a relationship that lasted from January of 1997 to June of 1999, when the woman was 15 and Euringer was 27, and was filed in New York State Supreme Court on August 9. In addition to Euringer, Warner Music Group, Warner Communications LLC, Elektra Entertainment Group and the band’s ex-manager and producer Joseph Galus were all named in the filings, which claim that those parties either knew or should have known about Euringer’s inappropriate relationship.
The suit alleges that Euringer “groomed and manipulated [the girl] into believing that his sexually assaultive behavior was not criminal and that by engaging in sexual activity with him Plaintiff was actually helping to protect younger girls from sexual assaults.”
The woman alleges that Euringer knew she was 15, saying she is still in possession of a birthday card wishing her a 15th birthday. Euringer allegedly bought the woman a fake ID so she could go to concerts with him and drink alcohol, although he instructed her to not act affectionately with him in public. She alleges that he made her “act like a small child, and suck her thumb, drool, and pee in her pants” during sexual acts.
Mindless Self Indulgence’s music, artwork and marketing material have often made reference to young girls. Rolling Stone notes that the album artwork for Tight features a closeup drawing of what appears to be a young girl’s underwear, while the song “Panty Shot” contains lyrics about life having meaning when a 5-year-old spreads her legs.
Neither Euringer or any of the parties involved responded to Rolling Stone’s requests for comment. You can read the full article here.
