Update: Corey Taylor has made it publicly known that he is not in this movie. Check out our follow-up story for details.

Original story:

Man, it’s obvious that a lot of mainstream metal stars are officially transitioning into indie horror as a way to make money without literally breaking their backs onstage. Last year saw Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor star in a Halloween anthology film called Bad Candy that was…well, it went hard in its Halloween vibe and had a lot of cool sets, how about that? Now, Corey has been slated to star alongside Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz, and more in an upcoming horror flick with a premise that’s definitely got some potential.

The movie is titled The Virginia Bitches (oof), and centers around an all-female death metal band made up of vampires. The band travels from town to town, you know, playing death metal and drinking blood, until they end up in a small town full of cannibals which is led by a warlock (you know how tour gets, am I right?). The movie is actually set in the same universe as Bad Candy; apparently there are flyers for the band around the set of that movie.

As far as the horror and metal community showing up for this film, here’s who’s in the cast right now:

The film currently has an Indiegogo campaign, where fans can help them reach their $350,000 budgetary goal, of which they currently have a little over two grand, JEEEESUS! Wow, well, let’s hope the Slipknot and LoG fans really shell out for this one!
