Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller Caught Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel on Saturday Night

0

It’s no secret that Tim Keller, mayor of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a hardcore metalhead. The dude joined Anthrax onstage and once signed a bill wearing a Pantera sweater. So we’re not surprised, just more impressed, to hear that he came out to rage with Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel on their current Bay Strikes Back Tour this weekend.

Keller’s night of thrash metal reckoning went down Saturday, April 16th, the at Sunshine Theater. As you’ll see below, Testament posted a picture of them posing around Mayor Keller, with the caption:

“Thank you to the mayor of Albuquerque Tim Keller @mayorkeller for coming to our show last night! 🀘 We love meeting members of our thrash metal family! #metalheads #testament #testamentlegions #thebaystrikesback

If you’ve ever been to Albuquerque, you’ll know that it’s metal as fuck, in part because the city has a really rad music culture and in part because it exists in the middle of this vast landscape between these huge, misanthropic mountains. It’s sort of like Denver with about 18% more Mad Max. So the fact that its mayor is a thrash fan tracks pretty well for ABQ.
