KISS Thank Austrian Fans By Displaying the Australian Flag
Right now, KISS are on a European leg of their farewell tour, and have been dealing with a few snafus here and there. First, there was the whole lip-syncing fiasco that resulted in former guitarist Ace Frehley throwing shade at the band. Now, KISS have pulled a pretty classic fuck-up by thanking European nation Austria for their ongoing support — and then displaying the Australian flag instead.
Yup, as reported by Blabbermouth, at their June 26th show in Vienna, KISS closed out the gig with their logo and the message, ‘KISS Loves You, Vienna.’ Only the flag put behind their logo wasn’t the Austrian flag, but the Australian flag.
This is especially funny because the Austria/Australia mess-up is one repeatedly played on in American media. Like, the header image we have for this piece is from a movie where a moron makes this mistake.
And KISS have, well, a big promotional machine behind them. And this is their last tour.
Anyway, Austrian KISS fans, hope you had a laugh about this.
