Longtime Pittsburgh punks Anti-Flag return with lucky number 13. The band considers it their first concept record and it features a ton of guests, including Jesse Leach, Tim McIlrath and a bunch more. This probably won’t do it for you if you’re an OG Discharge fan but it’s another outspoken notch in Anti-Flag’s belt. Get yours.
Iggy Pop
Every Loser (ANTI)
Punk rock’s shirtless grandfather makes a return to form on Every Loser, busting out the fuzzy punk jams with more conviction than most 75-year-old men can muster. If you haven’t given a shit about Iggy Pop the last few albums but still care about his punk roots, tap back in here—Every Loser is a nice surprise, aided in part by producer Andrew Watt, who also recently worked with Ozzy for his comeback. Human Coward Coyote (Convulse)
Like I said, not a ton of metal out today but Nag’s Human Coward Coyote can appeal to those with darker inclinations. The fuzzy hardcore punk base meshes smoothly with dark post-punk-isms in a way that feels both bright and dark.
