Avenged Sevenfold FINALLY Stream “Nobody,” Announce New Album Life Is But a Dream

After weeks of their website being “hacked” and a mysterious countdown foreshadowing something on the horizon from the band, Avenged Sevenfold have finally unveiled what everyone knew was coming — a new song from a newly announced album expected to release this summer.

According to the band’s announcement, the new album is titled Life Is But A Dream… and its lead single is a six-minute bout of groovy metal titled “Nobody.” The song’s accompanying music video features visually interesting stop motion animation, which the band says “unfolds like a short film…[about the] stunning and powerful journey exploring the dichotomy between life and death, love and war, and follows the main character through an existential crisis.”

This new announcement actually marks the first time since 2016 that Avenged Sevenfold have put out a new single since the release of their 2016 album The Stage. Written and recorded over four years, the band says Life Is But A Dream… was inspired directly by French philosopher and Nobel Prize winner Albert Camus, whose focus remained on mostly existentialism and absurdism throughout his career.

Along with the new album announcement and new track, the band wasn’t quite done with the reveals this morning, as they’ve also announced two major shows on either side of the U.S. The first show will take place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on June 9, while the second will occur at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on June 23. Tickets for either show will be available via Ticketmaster.

Life Is But A Dream… will be out on June 2 via Warner Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
