Alice Cooper Announces New Album Road, New Single Out Now
Shock rock legend Alice Cooper has announced that his new album, Road, will be released on August 25 via earMUSIC. The album was written with Cooper’s touring band, which includes guitar virtuoso Nita Strauss. The lead single, playfully titled “I’m Alice,” is streaming now.
Says Cooper about Road:
“In the past, the show got reviewed before the music did. We had hit #1 albums, but it was always about what we did on stage. For ‘Road’, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs. I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. That’s what we did for this record. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”
Strauss recently took a brief hiatus from Cooper’s band in order to play with Demi Lovato. Former Cooper guitarist Kane Roberts filled in until she returned. Cooper explained it earlier this year:
“She’s back! Nita asked for a leave of absence to work with someone else, something I always encourage my band members to do. I like them to challenge themselves and try new things. I’m thankful to my old friend Kane Roberts for stepping up and filling in for her, but she’ll be back with us for the new tour that starts up in late April. It’s going to be great to have her back.”
