Saliva and Drowning Pool to Take Concertgoers Back to the Early 2000s with Their U.S. Tour This Fall

0

There was a time, way back when the U.S. was just invading Iraq and we were always remembering our national trauma, when bands like Saliva and Drowning Pool struck it big. Songs like “Your Disease” and “Bodies” polluted the airwaves, creating fertile ground for angsty teenage boys just itching to join the military straight out of high school.

Now more than 20 years after the fact, both bands are joining up to take their one or two hits, along with some of their more recent material, out on the road. The two-dozen dates listed in the “SNAFU Le Tour” kick off in Norfolk, Virginia on September 19 and come to an end on October 22 in Jefferson, Louisiana.

Along for the ride will be supporting acts Adelitas Way and Any Given Sin.

Saliva’s been in the news recently, as their last remaining founding member Wayne Swinny passed away three months ago while on tour. It was reported at the time that the band found the guitarist “in medical distress” one morning. He was quickly taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a “Spontaneous Hemorrhage in his brain.”

Since then, the band has opted to move on as a unit, even without any founding members, with even original vocalist Josey Scott giving them his blessing.
